There are many reasons to not want North Korea to join the nuclear family. One reason could be their preoccupation with fighting the South Koreans. A reason could be the fact that the country is run by a delusional egomaniacal midget with a Napoleon complex. The reason I choose to not like the news of their recent successful test is that they are not mature enough to play with the big boys yet.CONTINUED IN LEMMING POLITICS

Make no mistake, the Great Leader is insnae....He has lived his entire life as a godlike figure that could do no wrong, or was told he has done no wrong....
This is a guy that lets his people starve and shrink, literally....While the rest of the world has gotten larger, inclduing Africa, the North Koreans are like elephants on a small island, they are shrinking...
I think Kim jung il really believes he is in the drivers seat now, that now that he has nuclear weapons, the world will fall before him in fear.....
Only time will tell if that is true...
But what if it really is about the new Kofi being from South Korea? I agree he is insane, but is he clever insane or just Norman Bates insane?
What if he's both clever insane and Norman Bates insane? There's apparently a method to his madness, but he's also much like the playground adolescent bully -- "Do what I want or I'll make you pay."
I don't think any world power will give in to his demands. That makes this a very dangerous situation, IMO; i.e., how long before troops are deployed?
The key is China....they must realize they are playing a very dangerous game....if Japan and South Korea want to 'nuke up', the US can do that in about 5 mintues....
North Korea is doomed, its only a matter of time and how many people they take with them....
China must do a coup on Kim Jung ils regime.....That is the only way to avoid massive causlties and nuclear war....
I don't know which is scarier, N. Korea with nukes or looking to China for help with the situation. Something's going to happen. I don't know what, but I don't think it will be good.
I heard on the news today that China "scolded" N. Korea. And now the AP is reporting that N. Korea has detonated a second nuclear device. I agree with Steve -- somebody needs to go in there and stage a coup or whatever it takes to roust him out.

False alarm on the second test, apparently. Japan says it was an earthquake. If he didn't do it today, though, he WILL do it eventually, just because he's so full of himself.
