Movie Plot Idea: Volume One

This is not so much of a post as it is a note to myself to remember this plot I just thought of. You see, I want to make a Hogan’s Heroes movie. The show, a personal favorite, never got to have a finale; it just stopped. This makes the ending a story still waiting to be told. Here is what I have in mind.

As we all know, Hogan’s Heroes was about a group of POWs in Germany during WW2 who were working with the resistance from within the Stalag they in which they were being held. The show ran for almost five years (the length of WW2) and therefore the movie should take place as the war in Germany is coming to a close. Hogan and his men must escape from Germany, but they receive news that Klink, the German commander of the camp, is due to be arrested in blame for the acts of sabotage Hogan and his men have been committing in the area for years. The Gestapo believes either Klink was involved or was too stupid to stop it: either way he is to blame for their losing the war. Considering the bond that Klink and Hogan have forged over the years despite being enemies, Hogan must figure out a way to get Klink to Switzerland before he is arrested by the Gestapo and before the Allies free the camp and arrest Klink themselves.

Let me know what you think please.

You know why this never got a finale? Because the lead actor was murdered. It's still an unsolved case. In real life I guess he was a sexaholic and into a lot of weird things. Perhaps that's why it has been left alone all these years.

I think they should weave in the finale with scenes from Saving Private Ryan and all those other WWII movies but I like your main theme...

How about Klink and Schultz getting married by Gavin Newsome?

I am serious about what do you guys think of the plot.

VE,
Bob Crane was murdered in 1978(Autofocus taught me that) and Hogan's Heroes ended in 1971. They never got a finale because shows just ended back then. Green Acres never ended either, but I am not a fan of that show and will not be plotting a revival. Hogan's Heroes I always loved.

kan - True, but many of those shows had reuinion finales. Like Gilligans Island and Brady Bunch. I just think Hogan's Heros got left alone because of Bob Crane's murder.

As to your plot outline, I like it, it would be a fitting end to the series. But why end the series, why not re-bring it back to life like they just did with Get Smart or Adams Family?

I did think about just a story with these characters instead of an ending to the story, but watching teh show now has me wondering more about what became of these people after the war more than wanting more stories from the war itself. I also hate sequels and placing this movie at the end of WW2 limits the potential for more stories. I know Carter was a farmer who found a love of blowing things up while serving. Schultz was the owner of a toy factory before the war that the Nazis took over to make weapons.

The movie should of course be dedicated to Bob Crane.

Now I like that prospect...what became of them all. That would be interesting...
