Last Minute Endorsement Change: Max Linn for Governor

There is a last minute endorsement change to those the Lemming House supports. This change is in the race for Governor and it is due to the fact that this candidate did not get any press coverage during the race. Max Linn is an independent running for Governor who this Lemming cannot help but support 100%. While voting for Crist or Davis is picking the lesser of two evils, a vote for Max Linn is voting for actual good.

On Education: In fact, the FCAT has been failing our students, their parents and our teachers. For that reason, -- I give the FCAT an "F." It is being applied unfairly with the result that our teachers and students are under intense pressure. All the creativity and excitement inherent in learning is being lost.

On Insurance: I believe it is grossly unfair to Florida's taxpayers to allow private insurance companies to cherry-pick the least risky properties and leave the state-funded Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (which is owned by us, the taxpayers) to insure only the high-risk leftovers. Tallahassee politicians are allowing big insurance companies to privatize the profits and socialize the losses.

On Gun Control: I support the right of all Americans to own firearms and to carry firearms with a permit.

On Offshore Oil Drilling: There is no way I will let the oil companies and the federal government put Florida at risk. I will fight and defeat any measure that calls for the expansion of oil and gas drilling off the coast of Florida. The threat to our beaches from a potential oil spill is too great a risk to accept.

This is the candidate for Florida and I am very proud to support this man even if it is too late. I will vote third party this election. I hope others follow their hearts and vote for good instead of the evil they believe can actually win.

Wow......other then the insurance position I disagree with all of those....especially the gun stance......

If I were President for a day, I would make it my goal to remove 1,000,000 guns from American homes.....(pretty extreme left position aye?)

For the first year, since I could vote, I voted right down party lines......I can't in good consious help elect any democrats in Washington state, they are all extremist....Hell, our republicans would be considered liberal democrats in a blue state.....

I didn't even vote for Derrick Kilmer, a guy I used to work with, for state senator.....

I hope this is the last election I feel I 'have' to do this with......

Rex,
You are more liberal than I am and I more conservative than you, only on different issues.

I think most people are conservative on some issues, liberal on others. I think that just indicates a good balance.

I don't want anybody taking my gun away, though. If somebody breaks into my house with a gun, I want something in my hand besides a shoe so I'll stand an equal chance.

Agreed Kan.....

Serena, I would not take guns away from responsible and well trained citizens, just the illegal and excessive guns.......

I grew up around weapons.....at one point my father had over 30, and I had 5 (I was 13)......

After I got shot in the face, my view of guns changed dramatically......

Oh, my God, Rex. How in the world did you get shot?

Hey Steve,
I declared this blog a mud free zone until midnight tonight. I want only positive reasons why we are voting for someone and nothing negative here.

Rex,
You were serious about that?! OMG! I thought you were making one of your "Rex jokes"! I am so sorry. You got shot in the face by an M-16 and are still here to tell us? YOu are the man Rex. Superman.

I have told that story 100 times Kan, I thought you knew about it.....

We had been at the range and at doing 'war games' with blanks....We were done for the day and were supposed to clean our weapons, I was walking around a 2 1/2 ton truck when my best friend 'Chris' came out of nowhere stuck his gun in my face (about two feet away) and shot me in the head.....

All I heard was a LOUD BANG, I felt the air from the rifle hit my face and tiny flecks of grime and dirt hit me (if you get shot in the face you have time to feel it before you die), it knocked me out.....

I guees Chris had no idea how he still had a blank in his weapon and must have removed the blank adaptor from the front of the M-16 to clean it ........He dropped the weapon and 'squealed' (as people right there put it) and ran the opposite direction, he thought he had killed me....

I was out for about 5 minutes.....I woke up and my head was ringing and there was gun powder of my face and glasses......my right ear hurt and I felt like I had a sunburn.....Had there been any pebbles or sand in his weapon, I would have been a goner...

Holy moly, Rex. You do realize you're lucky to be alive? Superman, indeed.

I don't think you have told me that before Rex. That is an amazing story and I am happy to say I am happy you survived. We never agree but you would be a loss man.
