I have no excuse for today’s earworm. I have not heard the song in a decade and have not even heard the artist who did the song in years. Yes, I live in Miami, but that does not mean that I have to like this song, does it?
Come on
Shake your body baby
Do that Conga
I know you can’t control yourself any longa
Feel the rhythm of the music getting stronger
Don’t you fight it till you try it
Do that conga beat
How I hope it is in your head now.
PS- I love this photo that is in the new right now. It appears that we invaded Iraq with the express and sole purpose of switching a statue. Mission accomplished I suppose. It only took 5 years, a nation's economy, and about 4000 American soldier's lives. What a bargin!

Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine "Conga" and yes, it is in my head now. Thank you for giving me my housecleaning background music:). Hey, I don't have to like the song to clean to it.
Maybe we can sit George W. on top of that statue when his term is over. You know, right on top of that sharp pointy thing.
I'm so deliriously happy that they replaced that damn statue that I'm now going to go dance a Conga.:)
Sprink,
The song left my head at exact 4:20 today so thanks.
SJ,
Thank you for the segway.
I beleive you Kan, know better but are kind of 'pandering' to the crowd.
Actually Rex, no I don't. Five years on and I still see no purpose to invading Iraq. I do not see the world any better than it was before. Actually, this country is worse for it. The economy is sunk and we are looking at McCain or Clinton as the next probable president. Things are horrible right now. I pass 12 houses for sale on my way to work and where I work there used to be five businesses, but now there are two.
You are cruel...1988 cruel...
It was a hard fought statue...glad we got it up there...
So you wish Saddam Hussein was still in power? Raping the land of Iraq, filling mass graves, squandering billions of dollars from oil revenue for his own pervese enjoyment....Maybe fully off sanctions (with the help of France, China, and Russia), now making trillions of dollars to continue his serial killer murderous ways.....Maybe rebuilding his arsenal of WMD and plotting to destroy his enemies.....Namely the US and Israel......I guess, that is what you wish was happening now?
The Iraqi people now have a chance at self determination, that is what that statue stands for. To reduce their new found freedom after their brutal decades long oppresion, is sad, disengenious, and illinformed, at best.
Do yourself a favor Kan, read a book on Saddam and his criminal regime. It might suprise you to know the world is better off with him in a grave and his regime smashed to dust.
No Rex. You and I have had many many conversations about this and I am not going to have it again.
The Iraqi people now have a chance at self determination
Don't give two shits about that. If they wanted self-determination, they could have fought against Saddam without destroying the US in the process.
plotting to destroy his enemies.....Namely the US
He did nothing against us while in power, however, by taking him out of power we destroyed our economy, our good will, our future, our stability, etc, etc. Sounds like he won in the end.
Did nothing against us?
OMG....
Saddam was at WAR with us, he lived to destroy America, he said it every single day, in ever single speech. Including when he laughed at the 9/11 attacks and said he wished he could have caused them.
But maybe you could think about the 1,100,000 muslims he killed, or the oil fires he started, or the rape of Kuwait, or his sons that burtalized a nation for their perverse pleasure. Or the soccer team that was torutured for not doing well, or the women that were raped, or the wetlands that were drained and burned, or the support for Hezbollah......
Or the genocide he waged agasint the kurds, or the shittes.......you could think of all those things when you look at the proud new statue that stands where Saddams evil visage once stood....
You could think of those things....
Bored of this debate Rex. We have had it for five years and neither of our positions have changed over all that time. There is no point in getting into it again unless we are looking for a fight...and I have no desire or interest in a fight. I posted my picture (opinion) and you posted yours: end of debate as far as I'm concerned.
Hahahahahahaha, you are out of debate shape old man!
If i could find horace, I would sick em on ya!
Plus, you know you were fishing with that photo.....be honest.
I am more than out of debate shape, I am disillusioned right now. I am fatigued right now. I have been upset with the elected for over 10 years now and have lost my will to fight for the moment. Clinton, Obama, McCain...I don't see where any one of them is that different from the other. My mother loves Obama and my dad hates McCain, but I am undecided. The war is what the war is and Saddam is still dead. A poltical junkie with ADD cannot focus on any one problem for too long and I am economy based right now. My home town is sinking under the weight of it all and I am scared, not worried, but scared for my future.
I do miss debating with you Rex. Where do you stand in the election right now?
I stand with Mccain on the election. For the most part becaue he will finish the job, and the war, that we are in.
I think Hillary would too, push come to shove, and I don't think she would destroy our country and might even be a capable president....
I think Obama is a total phony, that has been, and will continue to be, exposed for what he is.....A dangerous and unfit leader.....
