Dude, I See Stoned People

I knew I liked Haley Joel Osmet. He is a decent actor who just picks really pretentious roles. “The Sixth Sense”, “A.I.”, and especially “Pay It Forward” just reeked of snotty superiority. I do not mind a heavy and deep movie, but I hate those movies that tell you that they are better than you. The kind you feel like you need to dress up to go see. “American Beauty” was that kind of movie as well, but that is not what I started writing about. I was talking about Haley Joel Osmet.

He is good enough in those pretentious roles that I really hate the guy until I realize he is (hopefully) just acting. Well, it turns out that he was just acting. He is just a regular eighteen year old stupid kid because this year he was arrested for D.U.I. while driving home from a concert in July. He crashed his 1996 Saturn station wagon, so you know times must be a tad bit hard on the poor lad, and was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. A $15,000 bond later and he is out on the streets again.

What makes me so giddy about this is that he was not just charged with a D.U.I. Oh no, that would just be no big deal. What makes me giddy is that Haley Joel Osmet is a pothead! He was also charged with marijuana possession.

Being stoned is good. Being drunk is ok. Being stunk is just an idiotic thing kids do. Let’s hope he is smart enough to learn from this. He actually is a really good actor. I just hate the characters he plays so far and the movies he has been in. Any movie that makes me feel bad for not wearing a suit is just not for me.
