Mephistopheles and His Schizophrenia

By Kanrei

You almost have to pity the devil these days. His entire purpose in life is to drive people into the arms of his foe and how do the followers of his foe repay him? By hurling even more upon him. Now they are blaming Hitler and Stalin on the red cloaked underworld dweller. They poor guy must listen to Styx everyday for G-d’s sake, no wonder he is a bit cranky.

I got into a heated argument with this dude one time in of all places a 'Family violence class'........
It was after the Columbine massacre and I suggested that sometimes you can't come up with sociological awnsers and the awnser may just be the presence of evil....Pure unadulterated evil......Well, it didn't sit well with some jerk in the class and we got into a shouting match over evil vs. sociology....

After class 20 people came up to me and thanked me.....One for expressing what they were thinking and two, for putting the guy in his place....(he constantly bullied the females in the class)

Evil is real.......if you don't beleive in evil, you can't beleive in good.....

I believe in evil, but I believe it is a creation of G-d, not of the devil. I believe G-d uses evil because good can come from evil and evil can come from good. A good example of good coming from evil is Al Capone feeding the hungry of Chicago during the depression. He motives do not matter as much as people were fed. Without Hitler, there would never have been an Israel.

True, if you beleive in the traditional view of 'God', you must beleive that all evil emenates from 'God'......

Thats why I don't ascribe personality to 'god', simply total presence.....

I actually do believe in G-d. I do not think the bible got it right. I think G-d gave us common sense to figure Him out.

It's "common sense" that steers people into believing that if you can't see it, touch it, smell it, taste it....that cause those NOT to believe or understan Him.

I disagree. I believe we are born knowing certain things, but because we don't know everything, we let others tell us what we know and what we don't, then condition us to their reality. We are born knowing G-d. It is only after the religious tell us we are wrong that we become those you speak of.

"How can "religion" tell us we are wrong about God, therefore turning us into people who don't believe in God because our human senses can't detect Him??"

Simply. Religion does not leave room for any other answer. It is their way only. Every religion teaches this and every religion is different, therefore every religion but one must be wrong. We search for G-d using the standards they taught us with instead of our feelings and what we know inside to be true and end up not believing at all.

I don't want to offend you so I really hope I am not. I do not believe the bible is the word of G-d. I believe it is the word of man attributed to G-d. I believe the King James version to be the King James version. They believed the king was appointed as G-d's representative on Earth, so he was entitled to rewrite the bible, but that is not true.
